Oak Wood Kennels

Well, it's been a while.  Between the bad weather we got from the hurricanes (we only got the bad weather effects from them, not the actual hurricanes themselves, thankfully!).  And My Ali coming to visit from Berlin.. well, we've been a bit busy.  But Ali has returned home now and things have calmed down some so we can get back to work.  I'm majorly depressed, with another long lonely year ahead of me before I can see Ali again.  But keeping busy should help to pass the time.

And, we have not been completely idle.  We finished the first Kennel, as well as completely converted the barn into an office/exam room for the vet.  Placed ads for a vet and will begin interviewing the applicants soon.  We have decided we will have a separate kennel built for each size category of dogs.  Had thought to have a separate one for each different breed, but we decided for now, to go by size.  We can always build more later if we decide to completely separate them by breed.

That said, the first Kennel built is set aside for small breeds.  How did we decide that?  Well that's easy, we just adopted our first dogs.  Two beautiful Shetland Sheep dogs, purchased from Wolfstorm.  They arrived at our kennel this morninghappy and healthy, and I'm happy to say they have settled in just fine.  We'll be looking for another female, but for now Trade Winds and Guiding Light are a lovely breeding pair for us to start with.

We have a second kennel almost complete.  This one is designated for Tiny breeds.  Since we have a beautiful Pom boy just born.  After that we will begin work on kennels for medium and large sized breeds.

As for the human habitations, the main house is wonderful, all repairs that were needed are complete and the house has been fully baby/puppy proofed.  Feel free to drop us a mail, or leave a note here on this bulletin board if you have any interest in any of our animals or services.  Or even just to say hello, and let us know what you think of Oak Wood.
